KHALIL THE GOLDEN PRINCE, A MAGICAL SAVANNAH CAT Khalil, a Savannah Cat whose father is a buff colored African Serval with huge black spots, very long legs and tall ears, comes to the earth for a brief stay. This is his story as told by Khalil in a photo journal of his first, very brief, life on the earth. He was never destined to stay long, but the magical sign of sesen* on his forehead held the promise of his return.
A MAGICAL PLACE
There is a Land of Magic and Mist
Of dreaming and sleeping and soft silent stirrings
Where creatures with wings live in the flowers
That Trumpet their going.
Pegasus was from such a place.
The flowers still sound from his leaving.
Khalil, too, is from such a place.
His story is about life and love and magic and life again.
*The sign of Sesen is a symbol of the Sun, of creation and rebirth. Because at night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn it rises and opens again.
According to one creation myth, a giant lotus rose out of the watery chaos at the beginning of time. From this giant lotus the sun itself rose on the first day. It is the symbol of Upper Egypt.
Mommy believes I came to the Earth on a special mission. She wrote to a friend who knows of these things. From Khalil the Golden Prince
Like the lotus rising from the seas, he would return.
